Recently I got very cheap damaged high-end MiniDV camera, and repaired it. It is superior to my Panasonic RX7 in almost every aspect except battery life and reliability. I don't need two cameras. Most of all - it is slightly smaller and lighter, it does not require lenghtly process of digitalizing the footage for PC and video sharing sytes like Youtube.
If you still have VHS-C cassettes left it's widely recommended to digitize them professionally. Doing it yourself with consumer conversion devices just gives such a bad quality + takes time and effort. _________________ Alternative to VHS to DVD
Hi Patriot, I think that you have a good knowledge on VHS camera. You have taken a good decision by buying high-end MiniDV camera because this camera has the hotshoe feature and the longest OPTICAL zoom in its class.Beside this, it is all-a-round useful and also, this unit is actually the preferred camera of choice for many sports film-makers.
